General Hospital spoilers say Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) had a far more grown-up conversion with Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) than it appears her mother, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), was capable of having.
Trina stopped by Laura’s place unannounced, and we could see the hesitation and anxiety written all over the mayor’s face. She likely expected that Trina would lay into her in a similar fashion that her mother did.
Instead, Trina showed her grace and tried to understand her position and what was actually going on, versus what was being reported by the media.
Now, it’s old news since Laura has decided to drop the inquest into Heather’s case upon Heather’s own urging. But that doesn’t mean it’s over.
General Hospital Spoilers — Respecting Heather’s Wishes
Laura has a soft spot for her old friend. No one is denying that — not even she. Before Heather was ever even treated for cobalt poisoning, Laura was at her bedside discussing the possibility of her old pal and quasi-family member not being as culpable for her crimes as she previously thought.
As Heather has received treatment and morphed into a somewhat more tame and regretful version of herself, the question of whether she is culpable has plagued Laura — but not Heather, who is keen on spending the rest of her days in prison. Out of respect for what she wants, Laura will let her.
GH Spoilers Tease Trina’s Loyalty Lies Elsewhere
Trina and Laura aren’t that much different. To be honest, Trina isn’t a whole lot like her mother. She is more principled than Portia and stands up for what is right even when it’s uncomfortable.
It’s possible that Trina’s conversation with Laura really got her wheels turning and wondering whether she can convince Heather to go ahead with this inquest and pursue a new trial. But what will Portia think of that?
General Hospital Spoilers — A Family Divided
Portia is already somewhat at odds with hubby Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). They clearly don’t agree on Heather’s situation, but Curtis does have an advantage. He went and met with Heather, which he hadn’t shared with his wife until the subject came up.
It certainly didn’t please Portia that he withheld that information, nor that his “processing” of it led to him agreeing more with Laura now than he does with Portia.
When her daughter, who was Heather’s intended victim, is the next to disagree with her, will Portia be able to handle it without losing her cool and reacting in a way she might regret?
