Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) was left stunned in recent EastEnders scenes after a shocking move from Ian (Adam Woodyatt).
Ian has been acting shifty for several days, and Cindy was determined to get to the bottom of his bizarre behaviour.
After working out the address Ian was headed to with an overnight bag, Cindy begged George Knight (Colin Salmon) to take her there, unaware that Peter and Bobby Beale (Thomas Law and Clay Milner Russell) were also following.
When she arrived, she received a huge shock as she came face to face with Jane Beale (Laurie Brett).
Cindy was also horrified that Ian would cheat on her with his ex, though Jane soon set the record straight by revealing that it was actually Bobby she wanted to reconnect with.
It was at that moment that Bobby walked in with Peter, though it wasn’t the emotional reunion that Jane was hoping for.
It was always going to be a tense conversation between the family, and not just because of Cindy and Jane’s connection to Ian. Viewers will remember how Jane helped to cover up Bobby’s involvement in Lucy’s murder, and Cindy was quick to confront her about it.
When Ian asked how him trying to reconnect his family was any different to her trying to reconnect with the Knights, Cindy pointed out that none of the Knights had killed one of their children.
Infuriated, Jane questioned where Cindy had been while she was bringing up her kids, before revealing that she had acted to protect Bobby, who she saw as a son.
She then opened up about how he was the only child she would ever have, as Cindy’s son Steven had left her infertile after shooting her in the past.
Cindy was gobsmacked, but that wasn’t where the shocks ended.
After the confrontation, Bobby surprisingly revealed that he was on Cindy’s side, as he couldn’t understand why Jane took Lucy’s body to the common. He then left her disappointed when he explained that he thought it was best for him to keep her out of his life.
With Bobby gone, Cindy sat down for a heart to heart with Jane, while George made it clear to Ian that he was no threat in the other room.
Unfortunately, Cindy and Jane’s conversation ended in a row, after Jane revealed that it had been Ian’s idea for him to stay the night at her house.
Furious, Cindy stormed out, demanding that Ian take her home and grovel in the car.
However, she was left stunned when he refused, and revealed that he would be staying with Jane to try and fix his family, insisting that she either deal with it or ‘find some other mug to drive round the bend’.
Is this the end for Cindy and Ian?
