EastEnders fans will be getting a surprise update about Ben Mitchell and Gray Atkins on the soap next week.

Ben Mitchell left the Square when he was extradited to the United States on fraud charges after actor Max Bowden quit the B.B.C soap. Nothing has been heard of him since but next week, the family will receive an update about Ben.

At the time, Max wrote an emotional farewell to his character. He wrote at the time: “Well guys It’s that time! It’s been one hell of a ride! Thanks for taking Ben to your hearts and allowing my version into your lives.

Nish sets a new plan in motion

However, there will be an update about Ben next week – when Kathy, Ian and Lexi go to visit him in America. Callum is upset he can’t go to see Ben too, because he can’t be off work – but Johnny has a way of cheering him up.

There’s a twist involving villain Gray Atkins

When Johnny invites him out, he’s initially keen but when Billy makes a comment about it not taking him long to move on from Ben, he is horrified – but will he accept the offer or turn him down?

Elsewhere, there is some shocking news from Gray Atkins. The serial k.i.l.l.e.r is currently in prison for multiple m.u.r.d.e.r.s but next week, Chelsea gets shocked when she spots a ‘for sale’ sign outside number 1. Her and Bernie soon realise that Gray is selling up – but will he really be gone from their lives for good, or does he have an ulterior motive?

Also next week, Nish seemingly sets another evil plan to work. Nish asks Avani for her help in tracking a random woman down, who he claims is an old friend of Suki’s – but who really is the woman and is there trouble ahead for the Panesars?
