Cain (Jeff Hordley) has been clashing with Moira (Natalie J Robb) over the situation with his nephew Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) and her son Matty Barton’s (Ash Palmisciano). 

Soap fans have watched in recent weeks as events in the village have driven Cain and 

Moira further apart. Meanwhile, the mechanic has been growing closer to Ella Forster (Paula Lane). 

Cain and Moira have been clashing over their families

Under pressure from bully Josh (Osian Morgan), Samson gave a false statement to the police about being stabbed by Matty, which resulted in Moira’s son doing a stint in prison. 

Things didn’t improve for Cain and Moira when Samson came clean, either. Cain did his best to help Samson prepare for being locked up by sparring with him, much to Moira’s horror. 

Moira was furious when she saw Cain helping Samson, feeling that it was a betrayal to her and Matty. 

Then, when Samson was arrested again at The Woolpack for assault after he stood up to Josh, Cain spotted Moira smiling as his nephew was escorted out by police.

Afterward, the couple went home and got into another explosive row. Moira even threw a glass across the room after Cain accused her of being the one who called the cops on Samson. 

With the couple very much on the rocks, will Cain turn his attention elsewhere?

Cain and Ella have been growing closer

Cain has been a huge support to Ella in recent months. He even convinced her to stay in the village after she was exposed as a child killer.

As viewers will know, Ella, whose real name is Ruth, killed her best friend when they were 11-years-old. 

Liam Cavanaugh turned his back on his girlfriend when he found out the truth about her, but Cain offered her support. He even helped her find a place to stay at the B&B after Liam kicked her out. 

Cain has continued to support Ella and was there to comfort her in the wake of her tragic baby loss. 

Noting their growing closeness, Emmerdale viewers are convinced Cain will betray Moira with Ella. 

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer observed: “My spider senses tell me there’s chemistry between Ella and Cain. What do you think?”

“Is Moira turning into a psycho abuser like Tom? Cain off with Ella,” another viewer predicted.

A third viewer said they’ve been picking up on the connection between Cain and Ella for a while. “Bet Ella comes back and has an affair with Cain now that he’s going to be going through troubles with Moira,” they wrote. 

“Cain ditch Moira and get together with Ella,” a fourth agreed.

“Moira has turned into a nasty spiteful cow, loved her and Cain together, but now I hope he leaves her,” added a fifth viewer.
