Emmerdale viewers spotted another missing character on Tuesday night as Charity and Cain Dingle learnt the truth about Tom King.
The ITV soap is tackling a coercive control storyline with Tom and Belle Dingle, and fans have recently seen Tom isolating and manipulating his partner Belle.
With his vile and violent behaviour worsening recently as he took Belle to Wales on the pretence of a holiday.
But he has actually planned to relocate there without his wife knowing, even applying for a job.
To make matters worse, Tom didn’t let Belle tell any of her family about their ‘getaway’ and even hid her mobile so she couldn’t contact anyone.
Thankfully, Belle’s family member Charity has been very suspicious of Tom’s behaviour and after learning of Belle’s sudden departure.
She decided to investigate on Tuesday’s episode with Cain.
After failing to get through to Belle and learning she’s been missing her mental health appointments, a very panicked Charity and Cain broke into their house to find clues on their whereabouts. Once inside, they were alarmed by Tom’s surveillance equipment and during their rummaging Charity soon found an address for a cottage in Wales in Tom’s budget book, as well as Belle’s phone hidden in a drawer.
The duo decided to head straight to Wales to rescue Belle and were alarmed upon entering the property to find it trashed with blood on the wall and no Belle. The ITV soap then came to an end as Cain warned over Tom: “He’s a dead man…” Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left concerned for Belle and were also worried as they spotted another missing character – the couple’s dog Piper.
One person said: “I’m just thinking where’s Piper in all this. #emmerdale”, a different account wrote: “Where’s Piper?? #emmerdale” while another added: “#Emmerdale If Tom hurts Piper!!!!” with a furious GIF. It comes as Emmerdale is lining up a major flashback twist later this week, in a change to the ITV soap’s usual episode format. Wednesday’s episode will feature a flashback twist, as we go back to the moment the couple arrive at the holiday cottage. While initially they seem loved up, the cracks soon start to show as Tom begins his manipulation tactics.
The flashbacks detail events going on across their stay, and reveal what has led to the horror scene that Cain and Charity find. But where are Tom and Belle? All will become clear in the dark special episode. It’s said events take a terrifying turn for Belle after she realises Tom plans to keep her there for longer.
