Emmerdale’s Tom King’s latest comment about Belle Dingle may have eerily teased a death on the ITV soap.

The character continued to play the victim, as his uncle Jimmy King urged him to give his wife Belle Dingle some time after she ended their marriage. 

What Jimmy and those in the village do not know is that she has suffered abuse at the hands of Tom for months, both mentally and physically.

Tom coercively controlled his wife from manipulating her and isolating her to controlling her life, before he turned violent. 

A couple of weeks ago Belle had enough and left Tom, while she has yet to reveal the reasons for their split to anyone else.

Jimmy urged his nephew not to give up, but told him on Friday that he needed to give her space. 

As Tom made digs at Belle for not sticking to her wedding vows, something he said could have been a dark hint at what was ahead.

As Jimmy told him there was hope for the pair, unaware of the horrifying truth, Tom said he “knew what he needed to do”. Just a day earlier he’d snuck into Belle’s home while she was away, with it not known what he was up to.

On Friday he told Jimmy: “We vowed to be together forever. Til death us do part.” The way Tom said this was all too chilling, so could it be a hint that Belle is facing danger when she returns to the village?

With an exit on the way for Tom, could he be killed off or might Belle be the one who sadly faces a deadly twist? If his comment is a foreshadowing, it could be linked to the apparently dramatic scenes ahead before Tom bows out.

According to show sources, ITV bosses are planning no redemption arc for James’ character Tom with the situation with Belle set to get much darker before he makes an explosive exit. Meanwhile fans think they know his next plan for Belle, after a worrying scene this week.

Things got a little confusing when Tom asked Jimmy if he had a drill he could borrow after a mystery delivery arrived for him. Tom was then shown sneaking out, before fleeing the home he once shared with Belle with the drill in his hand.

Having clearly snuck into the house he isn’t supposed to be near, he hid behind a wall when Aaron Dingle drove past. As he fled he seemed pretty pleased with himself, smirking as he looked at the drill before later making a comment about being able to make a home anywhere.

His weird behaviour, sneaking into the house and the comment left some viewers convinced they knew his creepy next move, and it could be bad news for Belle. Fans believed he may have used the drill to create spy holes in the house, as other viewers wondered if Tom planned to hide out in the house with Belle not realising.

Taking to X, one fan said: “Oh no. Tom’s going to move into the loft isn’t he?” as another posted: “Why do I get the feeling that Tom is going to do a Lachlan and live in the loft, watching Belle!” A third viewer said: “Can just imagine Tom eating Belle’s leftovers while he spies on her through some peep hole in the ceiling.”
