Emmerdale abuser Tom King has wasted no time in trying to make himself look like an innocent victim following his fallout from his wife Belle Dingle as he continued to control her.
During Monday’s episode of the ITV soap (July 29), Tom started spreading rumours that Belle is getting romantically close to Vinny Dingle after he caught them sharing a friendly hug.
In a second sickening plot, Tom convinced Belle to move back home with Piper as their cottage remained empty. He changed the door locks to convince her the house was secure but he managed to get a copy of the new key. Tom also emptied their joint bank account leaving Belle with no money and vulnerable.
During a conversation with Nicola King, lying Tom explained he “couldn’t believe” that Belle had left him.
“I mean, how she could end things like that, our marriage, our baby? I just wanted to be a dad”, Tom said as he pretended to get emotional.
He added: “And now her and Vinny”, as Nicola asked him to explain more before adding “I always knew you were too good for her.”
Tom declared his love for Belle before hinting at feeling lonely. Nicola then asked Tom to move into their family home as he put his plans into action.
But as villagers side with Tom, Emmerdale fans were left fuming as they accused the soap of turning against Belle. On X, one viewer wrote: “#Emmerdale said it before, they’re trying to turn people against Belle now. This is what they always do.” A second stated: “So they all believe Tom now?!?!?! Can the writers please get a grip.#Emmerdale.”
A third wrote: “It’s been on 5 minutes and I’m livid already, writers stop insulting our intelligence, everyone’s suddenly turning on Belle and supporting Tom…it’s STUPID #emmerdale”, while another added: “#Emmerdale why is this narcissist still calling the shots”, asked another.
