EMMERDALE fans were left fuming after seeing Kim Tate back down from an argument with Rose in an uncharacteristic move.
The women have been feuding ever since Rose reappeared in the Dales, claiming she wanted to reconnect with her daughter Dawn.
Rose abandoned Dawn as a child and the girl had to be raised by her father Will Taylor before eventually being placed in foster care.
She initially was wary of her mum and did not want to form a relationship with her.
However, this all changed when headstrong Kim clashed with Rose and offered her £3,000 to return to Spain and not come back.
After hearing about Kim’s proposal, Dawn was indignant, and decided to invite Rose to stay in their family home as an apology.
Things only went from bad to worse between Kim and Rose as the new mum kept trying to oust the matriarch from the family.
In tonight’s episode, Kim finally gave up and agreed to move out of her own house after Rose framed her for spiking Dawn.
It was revealed that Rose was actually the one behind the spiking when she was caught paying off a dealer.
But the sly woman staged an intervention to make it seem like Kim had been the one responsible.
A frantic Dawn said she was going to move out of the house and take her kids with her as they clearly weren’t safe around Kim.
The resigned matriarch said that she would pack her bags instead, and checked herself into the local B&B.
When her friend Lydia D.i.n.g.l.e protested that Kim’s husband should have been on her side, she only shrugged.
“I’m playing the long game,” she said.
“Watch and wait. [Rose will] expose herself eventually and whenever she does – I’
ll pounce.”
The twist has left longtime Emmerdale fans disappointed, as Kim Tate used to be known for her strong personality and vengeful nature.
Viewers took to social media to complain that soap writers have changed the character beyond recognition.
One person hit out: “Not liking this weak Kim. The Kim of the past would have ripped them all apart!”
Another raged: “This storyline with Rose and Kim is now getting ridiculous. With all her money why doesn’t Kim get a private detective to find out what’s going on ????”
A third questioned: “W.t.f? Why didn’t Kim get her phone out & take a pic of Rose with the drug dealer? What bs is this?”
Someone else begged: “We need the real Kim back.”
