EastEnders star Shiv Jalota, who portrays Vinny Panesar, has suggested a dramatic exit plot for his on-screen dad Nish Panesar.
Earlier in the year, B.B.C One’s soap revealed that Nish Panesar, portrayed by Navin Chowdhry, was facing a bleak future following a diagnosis of viral myocarditis.
Nish has been cautioned by medical professionals that without the rarity of a heart transplant, he is living on borrowed time.
Upon discovering his father’s precarious health status, Vinny decided to let go of past resentments and seemed to reconcile. Ravi (played by Aaron Thiara), Nish’s other son, also appeared to make peace. However, not all is as peaceful as it may seem according to the Daily Star.
In an unexpected move, Vinny has teamed up with his mother, Suki Panesar (played by Balvinder Sopal) to devise a clever plan to dupe Nish and regain control over the family business holdings, reports the Express.
30 year old actor Shiv Jalota spoke about Vinny’s intricate emotional state in this ongoing storyline, indicating that Nish might be running out of time.
He revealed: “What Vinny knows is that the one thing Nish wants more than anything is his children’s love, so that’s his most powerful weapon.”
“Whenever he has a sense of doubt, he uses that to manipulate Nish, who is the master manipulator himself. Sometimes, I think Vinny does mask his doubts to protect Suki, but he believes he’s got Nish right where he wants him.”
EastEnders actor Shiv shared: “I think Vinny does feel a sense of guilt about what he’s doing. Despite everything Nish has done, he’s still Vinny’s dad.”
“Nish is on his deathbed, and his time is running out, which only amplifies his guilt. Vinny is forced to morph into a man he never wanted to be just to secure his inheritance. Vinny craves the love and trust of both Nish and Suki more than anything else.”
Family tension has been at all-time high since Ravi was unveiled as Nish’s secret son last year, leading to an uncomfortable atmosphere between the half-brother duo Vinny and Ravi, particularly when their father’s inheritance came into play. It’s a fantastic conflict that both Aaron Thiara and I were eager to explore”, added Shiv.
“Ravi sees himself as the elder brother, but Vinny, now adult, feels resentment towards Ravi’s golden boy status. In Vinny’s eyes, Ravi is seemingly making every attempt to snatch away what is rightfully his, thus becoming a threat.He went on to say: “Vinny is attempting to outsmart Ravi and beat him at his own game. “.
While EastEnders are keeping any developments in Nish Panesar’s storyline tight-lipped, one can be sure of it being nothing short of dramatic.
