EAGLE-EYED EastEnders fans have called out the BBC soap over an epic Denise Fox blunder during

serious scenes involving injured Amy Mitchell.

As soap viewers know, Amy (Ellie Dadd) was one of the victims of the horrifying crush at Peggy’s Wine

Bar earlier this week. She is now in hospital fighting for her life.

Denise (Diane Parish) and Amy’s dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslan) sat by her hospital bedside for hours following the accident, only to be informed with the horrifying news that she has suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of her panic.

Amy, who is now fighting for her life in the hospital, also suffered a broken pelvis.

Worried, Jack and Denise sat by her bedside hoping to see an improvement, along with Amy’s half sister Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), who was managing the club that night.

During this serious scene on Wednesday’s episode of EastEnders, Denise tries to persuade her husband to go home and get some rest, but she makes a huge blunder while doing so.

Turning to Jack, Denise says: “Look, it’s getting late. Well, it’s early now. Why don’t you get yourself home and get some sleep?”

As she speaks, Denise pulls up her sleeve as if to look at a watch and check the time, but eagle-eyed soap fans were quick to notice that Denise wasn’t actually wearing a watch.

“EastEnders fail tonight. Denise checking time with no watch on,” one viewer pointed out on X, formerly Twitter.

While another made references to Denise’s hallucinations and commented: “Denise can see dead people at this point, let’s just pretend she can tell the time by looking at her bare arm.”

Of course, it is possible that Denise did have a watch hidden underneath the sleeve of her leather jacket and it just couldn’t be seen because of the angle of the camera – but viewers were still disappointed to see the blunder during such an emotional scene.

Meanwhile, Penny sat in the corner of Amy’s hospital room, feeling guilty for the events in the club.

Little does she know that Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) was actually responsible for causing the crush as she has inadvertently put too many tickets on sale online for a sold-out club night in a bid to spite Penny, who recently stole her job as club manager.

However, Denise’s daughter Chelsea is hiding the truth about what she’s done.

Along with Amy, Penny’s cousin Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) was also injured in the crush and is in hospital.

It may only be a matter of time before the truth comes out, but will Amy and Lauren recover from the accident?
