Coronation Street fans are ‘certain’ Kit Green is secretly setting up Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in an attempt to ruin his life. 

The bent copper, played by Jacob Roberts, recently arrived in Weatherfield as the estranged biological son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).

But he has rejected his mum after she gave him up for adoption as a small child. 

Kit hasn’t been enthusiastic about getting to know his siblings Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash).

However, Kit wants to save his sister from eviction by offering to buy their rented house.

He explained that his adoptive mum had left some money for him when she died and he wants to invest it in a property. In Kit’s earlier episodes, he was also seen in a plush house.

Kit’s dodgy background was confirmed on Monday (August 5) when copper Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) caught his mum Beth (Lisa George) and her sidekick trying to sell counterfeit T-shirts.

As Craig worried about having dodgy cash in his bank, Kit listened and appeared amused before promising he would keep quiet.

In a twist, Kit was later seen down an alleyway talking to Beth’s criminal partner Sid. At first, the man feared he was going to go to prison for the crime before Kit revealed his master plan.

Kit told the dealer to get rid of Beth and bring him on the scam instead. Wanting to earn extra money, Kit warned the man and said if he didn’t agree, he’d easily report him to the police instead.

Although Kit Green confirmed he was a bent copper, some Corrie fans are convinced Kit is working with Sid to frame Craig, and get him thrown out of the police force, or worse.

Taking to X, one Corrie fan wrote: “Why cant craig keep his mouth shut. Loose lips sinks ships. He shouldn’t trust Kit, he’ll drop him in it.”

A second said: “Just pile up Kit’s ammo on yourself Craig #Corrie”, while a third added: “Craig simply cannot keep a confidence…I wouldn’t trust Kit Kat as far as I could throw him #Corrie.”

“He’s a wrong un. Hope he doesn’t take our Craigy with him”, added one viewer while another echoed: “That’s it Kit. Keep supplying Craig with drink and he’ll soon tell all about the cover up with Faye #Corrie.”
