Coronation Street has aired a surprise arrest for Jack Webster in Abi and Kevin’s fire story.

Earlier this week, Kevin suspected Abi may have taken revenge on Stefan Brent by lighting his office building on fire.
Stefan had earlier tricked Jack into letting him into No. 13 when his parents weren’t home.
The villain stole an incriminating phone while he sent Jack away for milk for his tea, with the Websters only realising his treachery after the fact.

Wednesday’s (July 31) episode saw DS Swain investigating the fire, as Kevin and Abi emerged as her prime suspects since they had a long-standing grudge against Stefan.

After DS Swain produced doorbell camera evidence, Abi was hurt to realise that even Kevin thought she might have set the blaze.

However, Abi soon discovered the truth that Jack must have been responsible, since he’d been all alone the night before when Tyrone took Hope and Ruby to the cinema.
Jack immediately came clean to Abi, leaving Kevin reeling over the consequences of his son’s thoughtless act of revenge.
“I was only trashing his car, getting my own back at him,” Jack pleaded.
Kevin was determined to take the rap for Jack by pleading guilty to the arson, yet DS Swain remained sceptical that he may be covering for someone else.

The detective assumed Kevin was protecting Abi, yet she eventually received a phone call where Jack confessed he’d been the one to start the fire.
Kevin, Abi and Debbie were horrified to see Jack being taken into custody by the police to face arson charges. Can Kevin and Abi save Jack?
