Coronation Street viewers are convinced Joel Deering (Calum Lill) is going to murder Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) after she attempted to blackmail him.
As fans of the ITV soap will know, Joel is a violent abuser who tried to kill Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
But Lauren returned to Weatherfield last month pregnant with Joel’s baby.
After being hauled up in his flat, Lauren went into premature labour after Joel spiked her with pills in a terrifying twist.
She delivered their premature son named Francis who has been fighting for his life in an incubator.
Meanwhile, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) has been trying to uncover the truth about Lauren’s circumstances and requested a DNA test on her newborn son.
But it appears Swain’s daughter is now playing with fire after trying to extort villain Joel for cash. Betsy had a run-in with Joel and tormented him over his like for vulnerable women before calling him a “perv”.
Betsy demanded £1,000 to not tell his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) about him trying to pick up young women outside of the police station. She also reminded Joel how he threw her out of his car in the middle of a rough estate.
Joel was absolutely enraged by her scheme and dragged her into an alleyway to offer a stern warning as she tried to escape with fear. After his violent behaviour, will Betsy expose Joel?
Some Corrie fans think Joel is going to kill Betsy to cover up his tracks. Taking to X, one person wrote: “Betsy!! She’s got to be careful now he’s seen what Joel’s capable of hurting her like that.”
A second said: “Is anyone else wanting Betsy to be killed off by Joel”, while a third chimed in with: “I can see a future storyline of Joel Killing Betsy #Corrie.”
“Joel should become the new serial killer and get rid of both Mason and Betsy #Corrie”, urged one viewer as another echoed: “Can Joel off Betsy please she annoying.”
