Coronation Street’s Alina Pop, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu, could be in for a rough ride as she starts receiving unsettling calls just days before a human trafficking court case.
Fans of the soap are predicting trouble for Alina, with some even suggesting a death could be on the horizon. This comes after Alina made her return to the cobbles, sparking speculation that danger could be looming.
Alina is back on our screens after leaving Weatherfield three years ago. Before her departure, she had a brief romance with car mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, who was in a relationship with Fiz Brown at the time.
Their relationship was strained when Tyrone’s daughter Hope started a house fire, resulting in Alina suffering a miscarriage. Following the loss of her baby, Alina ended her relationship with Tyrone and left for the airport.
Rumours of a pregnancy began circulating when Alina was seen boarding her flight while seemingly pregnant, after ordering a tomato juice and touching her stomach. However, much to everyone’s surprise, Alina has returned, claiming she is only in Weatherfield for a brief court appearance and plans to leave once she has provided evidence in a human trafficking case.
Fiz was the first to encounter Alina in Frecho’s car park and immediately became suspicious of her intentions. During their conversation, Fiz noticed a photo of a young child on Alina’s phone.
Upon questioning Alina about the picture, she quickly claimed it was her nephew. However, Fiz wasn’t convinced and stormed off to tell Tyrone that he might have another child.
Tyrone tried to clear things up with Alina, but struggled to reach her after she left her hotel. Luckily, Cassie Plumber came to Tyrone’s aid when Alina called for a Street Cars taxi for herself and her son.
Cassie took Alina directly to Tyrone, who confronted her about the paternity of the boy. Alina then admitted that Dorin was indeed his son.
As the trial looms and Alina’s departure draws near, Tyrone is eager to spend as much time with Dorin as possible. He decides to pay for them to stay in a hotel until the trial concludes.
With tensions high and custody battles ongoing, Alina begins receiving unsettling phone calls. She suspects they’re from the people she’s testifying against, but Tyrone thinks his daughter Hope might be involved.
He confronts Hope, leading to a heated exchange as his daughter is livid that he would suspect her, particularly after the fire incident.
