Coronation Street fans are convinced an affair is on the cards for Kit Green and an unlikely Weatherfield resident.
The bent copper, played by Jacob Roberts, first rocked up to the cobbles this year, as Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost child. Soap favourite Bernie gave up a Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption almost thirty years ago.
And a few months ago, she eventually tracked him down. Meanwhile, Bernie’s twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) were left stunned to find out they had another brother.
What’s more, Kit also had a part to play in sicko Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) getting sent to prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Kit planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan’s van and framed him.
Since then, Kit has become a regular on the cobbles – and recently, he moved into the beloved pub, Rovers Return, bagging Glenda Shuttleworth’s (Jodie Prenger) old room. He has also appeared to clash with barmaid Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) after initially flirting with her.
But realising she is dating Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), Kit backed off. Fans will recall that Daisy and Ryan recently rekindled things after the latter returned to the cobbles earlier this year.
However, despite Daisy and Kit clashing, that has not stopped Ryan and Kit from starting a friendship. Last week, the pair bonded over their mutual love of music and fitness with Ryan taking a shine to Kit and his impressive vinyl collection.
What’s more, during Monday’s episode (August 19) Ryan opted to hang out with Kit for the evening – despite frustrated girlfriend Daisy having the time off work.
And while some viewers think it’ll be Daisy and Kit that start an affair at some point, in what would be a shock twist other fans are convinced Kit and Ryan could be the ones to strike up a romance.
Rushing over to a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person mused: “I can see an affair with Kit and Ryan.” Someone else added: “I think that too, we don’t know Kit’s sexuality do we? He could be bisexual.”
A third replied: “That’s true, I think Kit fancies Ryan,” as another viewer proclaimed: “I’m telling you – watch this space! Kit and Ryan.”
