CORONATION Street fans have yet another gripe with ITV bosses.
Viewers have tuned into the long-running ITV soap in horror as they watched Roy Cropper (David
Neilson) suffer a heart attack.

In a highly-criticised storyline, Roy was wrongly charged and imprisoned as she was suspected of murdering Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
The cafe owner was released from jail, after Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) was arrested.
In recent scenes, he was set upon by a group of hoodlums who accused him of being behind the disappearance of Lauren.
Carla Connor (Alison King) promptly saved him, before he was rushed to hospital after collapsing in the cafe later that same day.

However, it seems that Coronation Street fans are more distracted by the beard that Roy is currently sporting.
After he was threatened at knife point by Griff in prison, the reclusive character has been looking noticeably more ramshackled on the cobbles.
Before his time in prison, regular viewers were used to seeing the character sporting a clean-shaved look.
Viewers do not like the new beard, as they took to social media in their droves to lament the direction of the serial drama.
on X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Oy, Roy ! You can shave yer beard now. Lauren’s turned up.”
A second exclaimed: “Roy definitely needs to get rid of that beard! Or trim it.”

As a fourth fumed: “Roy really needs to get rid of that beard.”

And a sixth soap fan added: “The beard’s not helping, Roy…”
