Coronation Street spoilers for the next episode reveal that one character is tricked into returning to Weatherfield amid a theory Tyrone Dobbs isn’t the father of Alina Pop’s son

Coronation Street’s next episode will see one character tricked by another, amid a major twist involving Alina Pop and Tyrone Dobbs.

Alina made her shock return to the cobbles this week, and it soon emerged she had a young son. Fiz Brown was left reeling to bump into her former love rival, and quickly realised her husband Tyrone Dobbs could be the father of her child.

Alina fled the scene, and as Fiz told Tyrone what she knew he claimed he probably wasn’t the dad. But as it dawned on him that the age of the little boy meant he could well be his son, he raced to find Alina but was unsuccessful.

Amid fans speculating that Tyrone isn’t actually the father and another past character could be, new scenes will show a reunion for the former couple with one character “duped”. Spoilers for Friday night’s episode reveal Alina is about to flee for good when she is tricked by Cassie Plummer.

Alina has no idea Cassie is Tyrone’s mother as she books a taxi to the airport. Taking Steve McDonald’s cab, she helps Alina and her son into the car before driving her straight to the street, clearly wanting her to meet with Tyrone.

Alina’s furious to realise she’s been duped by Cassie as she comes face-to-face with her ex. But what will happen next, and will Alina stick around?

Meanwhile fans on Reddit have suggested that Tyrone may not be the father of Alina’s baby as they, with one believing the little boy seemed too old. Instead, they believed Alina may have had a baby with her old open-hearted pal Seb, who was murdered by Corey Brent in 2021: “He looks way too old to be Tyrone’s kid??? Imagine if Seb was the dad and she’d been keeping the baby hidden…”

Tyrone actor Alan Halsall revealed all on the big twist in a chat with The Mirror. He confessed: “I don’t think Tyrone knows how to react… finally they get married, happy life, happy wife, two kids, and now Alina is back to throw a spanner in the works, and we’ll see how he tries to navigate this one.” On the child twist, he went on: “I feel like everyone knew apart from Tyrone when she left, but I always knew she’d probably be coming back.

“Tyrone at first wants to bury his head and forget it ever happened but the reality of the situation is there’s a child involved. Tyrone realises the seriousness of the situation and he has to bite the bullet on this one and get involved.”

Alan added: “He will want to be involved in some way and do the right thing by his child but as I say he has great intentions, but it doesn’t always work out.”
