Dee-Dee Bailey is about to make a groundbreaking discovery on Coronation Street that will unravel a series of dark events. Next week, Dee-Dee will finally uncover the truth about her deceitful fiancé, Joel Dearing.
Joel has been hiding his sinister actions ever since he attacked Lauren Bolton back in February, leaving her in a dire state. Dee-Dee’s suspicions about Joel began to rise when she spotted an email on his laptop asking for feedback about Belfast Airport. Conversations with Joel’s ex-family only heightened her concerns. Joel had claimed he bought an expensive bracelet for his daughter Mave, but when Dee-Dee bought a charm for their potential flower girl, Emily, she learned that Emily was unaware of such a piece of jewelry. Emily warned Dee-Dee about Joel, noting that he was still paying rent on his old flat and suggesting that he might be having an affair. Dee-Dee discovered that the flat was stocked with food, reinforcing her suspicions.
Joel had insisted that his trips to Belfast were for business, but Dee-Dee’s investigation takes a crucial turn. She searches for the jeweler where Joel supposedly bought the bracelet and, while examining other items worth £300, she stumbles upon something shocking.
Later, when Dee-Dee visits Weatherfield General to check on Lauren and baby Frankie, she learns that Lauren is planning to move to Belfast. Connecting the dots, Dee-Dee realizes the unsettling coincidence between Lauren’s move and Joel’s actions. Returning home, Dee-Dee mentions the coincidence to Joel, who remains evasive and hides his surprise.
