Coronation Street’s Joel Deering may be brought down by his own fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, one star has teased.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Channique Sterling-Brown promised her character would be onto partner Joel and his crimes, and that the truth would soon coming spilling out.
Teasing his downfall was on the cards, she heavily hinted Dee-Dee would be the only person capable of “challenging” Joel and bringing him down. A couple of months ago viewers learned what Joel was really hiding, with him confirmed as the person who attacked teen Lauren Bolton.
She was presumed dead until her shock comeback to the show this week. More about Joel came to light, as flashbacks detailed how he groomed Lauren and coerced her into a sexual relationship, while giving her gifts and money when she was in need.
But things turned violent and Joel ended up attacking Lauren when she wanted to end things, hitting her repeatedly over the head with a chair leg. Lauren’s return saw the bombshell reveal that she is five months pregnant with Joel’s baby.

But ahead of the truth coming out and Joel’s secret now under threat once more, Channique told us that Joel’s lies would begin to unravel and that it could land Dee-Dee in danger. She also teased Dee-Dee could be the one to trigger is downfall, finding out what he’s been up to.
On if Joel would hurt Dee-Dee, she said: “I actually don’t know. I think there might be an element of if I can’t have you then no one can, in his mentality. Whether that would put her in danger or not is yet to be seen.
“What’s in the dark always comes to light so we will have to see what happens with that, as currently it is all wedding bells. She is a tough girl and can read people, so I do think in the coming weeks we are gonna see a shift to their relationship.
