Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) got the last laugh against dying ex-husband Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in recent EastEnders scenes,
after his latest plan to destroy her engagement fell apart.
Last week, Suki proposed to girlfriend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) in romantic scenes, much to the horror of possessive Nish.
Her proposal came after a week a of meddling from her jealous ex, who used her first love Ayesha (Laila Rouass) in an attempt to make Eve jealous.
His interference seemed to work when it prompted Eve to get down on one knee, only for her to be left devastated when Suki didn’t say yes.
After the pair had an important discussion, and with some encouragement from Ayesha,
Suki realised what she truly wanted and popped the question to Eve, with resounding success.
In last night’s episode, Eve was happily discussing wedding plans with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) when Nish overheard, and couldn’t resist getting a dig in about Eve’s insecurities over Ayesha.
However, Eve isn’t one to back down from a fight, and offered her own jibe, revealing that she planned to show Suki what a real marriage was like.
Furious, Nish decided to get his plan to use Ayesha to split up Suki and Eve back in action.
After calling her back to Albert Square, Nish offered her half of his property portfolio, revealing that once he died she would be able to run the business with Suki.
While this seemed like a tempting offer, Ayesha knew exactly what Nish was up to, and had soon called to tell Suki everything.
She wasted no time in tracking down her ex-husband, and made it clear to him that Ayesha wasn’t going to take the deal.
Unable to resist getting in a final jab, Suki pointed out that Nish’s meddling had given her the opportunity to invite Ayesha to the wedding, while pointedly fiddling with her engagement ring.
As Suki smirked, Nish’s face was priceless, and it was clear she’d got one up on him.
Will Nish accept his loss, or will he continue his attempts to destroy Suki and Eve’s relationship?
