Corrie’s Cait Fitton has revealed on why Lauren Bolton rocked up back in Weatherfield.
The big reveal about the lass’s whereabouts dropped in Monday’s (July 8) episode of the ITV fave, when she popped into the hospital to see Roy Cropper (David Neilson) after his heart scare.
After vanishing earlier this year and sparking fears she’d copped it, it’s been teased that we’re about to get the lowdown on why Lauren’s been MIA from the street. She was last seen getting a right nasty one from sicko Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Cait, chatting about her intense plot, shared: “Since Lauren has left Weatherfield, she’s been running from hostel to hostel and also sleeping homeless. She’s not been able to pay the rent and has been booted out of different hostels.”
“Obviously now there are other precautions that Lauren has got to think about. She doesn’t know where Joel is and she went through a near-death experience with him, so she doesn’t want to take that risk or face that trauma again.”, reports the Express.
“Lauren decided to come back when she heard that Roy is in hospital. She knows that this has not just affected him mentally but now physically so she’s like ‘Right, I’ve got to go back and I’ve got to put things right. No matter what the consequences are, I’ve got to do it’. Roy was so important to her.”
“Lauren is scared of letting people down. She knows she’s going to get backlash from people because Roy is adored by everybody on the street she knows that’s something she’s going to have to face. She’s in survival mode, but she always has been.”
She revealed: “I had to sneak in and out the building, getting lifts from Calum [Lill] but having to get in the boot to make sure I wasn’t being seen.”
“People would be at the front getting selfies, I’d be in the boot still. So it was a bit chaotic! It was like a massive game of twister in that boot, it was tiny.”
“There were times when I had to get on the floor in a taxi, the driver was wondering what’s going on and I’d just shout go go go! It was mad. Fun but mental. I never thought I would have to be doing that to get into work.”
Fans have been left biting their nails over Lauren’s fate after she disappeared following a brutal clash with Joel, and they’re all on tenterhooks to see his reaction when she pops back up.
