EastEnders could be set to welcome back one of its most villainous residents.
Gray Atkins (Toby Alexander-Smith) made his debut back in 2019 – and it didn’t take long for him to become a soap baddie.
The disgraced serial killer ended up embarking on a murderous rampage – killing his wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami).
And Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White).
His first victim was Chantelle who he subjected to months of domestic abuse. Realising enough was enough, she decided to flee with the children – with the help of Kheerat.
However, Gray soon realised what she was doing – and in heartbreaking scenes, Gray pushed her and she landed on the open dishwasher and was impaled by a knife.
Shirley’s sister Tina was killed by Gray three months after he murdered Chantelle. She found out that Gray had been meddling over a crime she didn’t commit and went to confront him.
That ended in her death and her body was buried under the Argee Bhajee. Gray’s final Walford victim was Kush who he pushed him in front of a tube train.
Kush and Whitney were planning to run away – but as Gary was obsessed with Whitney, he killed Kush.
Luckily, Gray made his exit back in 2022, when his crimes finally came to light, and he was sent to prison. However, over in the soap recently, the soap issued an update on Gray.
Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) received a shock when she spotted a ‘for sale’ sign outside her home, number 1. The mum-of-one and his former sister-in-law Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) soon realised that Gray was selling up.
And now, fans are convinced a return could be on the cards for Gray – despite being banged up. Over on a Facebook EastEnders fan page, one viewer mused: “Ok I’ve got food for thought… Why have they mentioned Gray so randomly and expectedly I think they are bringing him back.”
Someone else replied: “I hope they bring Gray back. He’s up there as one of the most horrible villains ever on EastEnders.” A third penned: “He could return as Chelsea could visit him in prison.”
Another chimed in and mused: “I think Gray will Return for the 40th Anniversary of EastEnders.” A fifth wrote: “Need Gray to break out of prison and do a killing spree for the 40th anniversary.”
