General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) is growing increasingly fixated on Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) takedown. It’s clear that nothing matters more to John than making Sonny pay for all his crimes.
Unfortunately, GH writers could be taking John down a troubling path – one that could end with him resorting to some criminal behavior of his own.
Since the show has turned Agent Cates into a villain, they might as well go all the way and let him do something drastic.
If John can’t succeed in getting Sonny locked up, that may be enough to push Agent Cates into dangerous territory.
Sonny was previously the one teetering on the edge of a breakdown and probably would’ve wound up in prison if the situation with his meds hadn’t been sorted out.
However, Sonny is back on the right dosage now, so he’s calmer and more rational than John at this point.
What happens if John feels like Sonny’s going to get away with everything?
Will Agent Cates throw out any sense of morality and decide he’ll have to get down in the mud?
John might snap and draw his weapon on Sonny sooner or later.
It could lead to Agent Cates firing at Sonny or at least threatening to, so that might force Jason to take action.
Will Jason take a bullet for Sonny or perhaps fire one at John to save him instead?
That would truly complete Jason’s transition back to Sonny’s right-hand man and move them beyond any betrayals of the past.
As for John, he certainly seems to be headed for the exit door, so it’s probably just a matter of whether he’ll live to tell the tale!
Agent Cates could get hauled off to prison himself or end up deceased after going too far.
John is undergoing some character updates right now that can only end in terrible news, so we’ll bring you more predictions on what’s in store for him.
