Emmerdale stars Emma Atkins and Jeff Hordley, who portray soap legends, Charity and Cain Dingle.

Opened up to Express.co.uk and other media about how the domestic abuse storyline between Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor Draper).

And her husband Tom King (James Chase) unfolds.

Emmerdale fans will know all too well that Tom has been making Belle’s life a living hell since tying the knot with her in February. 

He’s been mentally and physically abusing her, almost killed their dog and has been isolating her from her loved ones. 

However, Charity – who has been a victim of abuse in the past – finally starts to spot the red flags in upcoming scenes.

In scenes yet to air, Charity’s alarmed to learn Tom has secured a job interview in Wales and wonders why he and Belle suddenly leave Yorkshire. 

She calls Cain as she suspects Tom is mistreating poor Belle who hasn’t been able to open up to her family about the horror she’s been enduring.

Cain cannot seem to get in contact with Belle after trying to call her multiple times, and when Charity learns she has been missing her mental health appointments.

The pair decide to take matters into their own hands. They manage to break into Belle’s home to find out exactly where they have gone.

They are left taken aback and disgusted to find Tom’s surveillance equipment, and while rummaging Charity discovers an address for a Welsh cottage in Tom’s budget book. 

When they arrive at the cottage they are horrified to find it wrecked and viewers are transported to the start of the week in flashback scenes.

During the traumatic flashback, Belle appears happy to be out of Emmerdale with Tom at first.

However, she’s left upset not to have her phone as she could not ‘find’ it when they set off for Wales.

Tom soon starts manipulating her inside the cottage and the seemingly romantic trip quickly turns into a terrifying ordeal for Belle.

When asked how far Charity and Cain would go to protect Belle after seeing blood on the walls at the cottage, Jeff hinted his character might kill for her.

He cryptically shared: “Well, it’s his little sister… If somebody hurt his little sister, you know, there is no saying in what Cain would do.”

Emma added when asked about seeing blood smeared over the walls in the cottage: “It’s just an unpleasant sight, isn’t it?

“We immediately feared for her safety because why wouldn’t we? We know she’s gone away and she’s missing as there is no one in the house when we get there.

“We see blood and we immediately assume Belle is in real trouble.”

Charity and Cain rarely team up on screen these days, so the actors who play the characters addressed sharing these harrowing episodes together.

Jeff said: “We’re such good friends outside of the building. Like I said, the history between the two characters, and the trust we have as actors, hopefully translates onto the screen.”

Will Cain end up killing Tom to get vengeance for his little sister on the ITV soap? Could he get away with murder if Charity, Cain and Belle make a pact to keep it between themselves and dump the body?
