EastEnders could air deadly scenes according to a new theory, with fans predicting a major twist for Reiss Colwell and his wife Debbie.

Viewers know that Debbie has been in a coma in a care home for a while, after an incident before Reiss arrived in Walford in 2022. 

Reiss had told new partner Sonia Fowler that Debbie had suffered a stroke while in the bath, and afterwards he was unable to give her the full-time care she needed.

Debbie has never woken up from her coma and remains in the home, with Reiss now struggling to pay the bills for the care given. 

Reiss has been trying to come up with ways to make quick cash recently, after spending Debbie’s savings on his IVF treatment with Sonia.

With their recent attempts sadly unsuccessful, the couple are trying again but Reiss has used up most if not all of the funding. 

He was recently heard asking Debbie for more of her money even though he knew she would not respond, and last week he confessed to Sonia money was tight.

With him unable to pay the care home fees, fans have been predicting that Debbie might be moved into Sonia’s house after she and Reiss kept having scenes where they discussed their spare room. With Reiss still hiding the full extent of his money woes, could he end up taking horrifying action?

Viewers are convinced the show is building towards a twist with Debbie where she will wake from her coma, and rumble Reiss. But others have come up with the idea that Reiss will try to get rid of Debbie to save his money drama from spilling over.

Taking to X, some viewers shared a theory that Reiss will end up killing Debbie. One fan posted: “Reckon Reiss is going to murder Debbie to save on care home fees and get all her money.” A second said: “I’m suspecting that he’ll do away with Debbie,” as a third added: “Will someone smother her?”

Others predicted Debbie would wake up sooner rather than later, as one said: “Imagine IF Debbie wakes up and Reiss talks Sonia into moving Debbie into the spare room of the house and Sonia has to look after her.” Another posted: “I wonder when she’ll wake up and discover that Reiss used her money to pay for Sonia’s IVF,” as a third added: “Now would be the absolute ideal time for Debbie to suddenly wake…”
