Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) has received an almighty shock in Coronation Street – she’s pregnant with brother-in-law Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) baby!
Viewers of the ITV soap have seen the two grow closer in recent weeks, following Leanne’s (Jane Danson) indoctrination into the dangerous Altovalent Institute cult, headed up by sinister Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper).
Nick was also the first person that Toyah confided in when she revealed that she buried her stillborn baby in a park over 20 years ago.
Whilst Leanne was initially caring towards her sister, and even visited the graveside with her, she soon changed her outlook and used some of the cult’s ‘reality coding’ techniques to imply that Toyah’s negativity was bringing her down.
In a shock twist, after Leanne disappeared off the face of the earth to attend one of the Institute’s ‘retreats’, Toyah and Nick couldn’t keep their hands off each other and kissed.
After swearing that they’d keep away from another in the future, they later spent another night together and were caught by one of Rowan’s cronies who took a photo of them sharing a passionate moment.
Toyah eventually agreed to sign his non-disclosure agreement in a bid to stop his followers from stalking her around Weatherfield, well aware that the affair was on the brink of exposure.
Sadly, that looks set to get worse…
In tonight’s (3rd June) episode, Toyah was suffering from abdominal pains but was insistent to go into work at the bistro when she heard Nick was spending the day at home.
Whilst escorting some diners to their table, she doubled over in pain and Leanne ordered her home – where she collapsed.
Over at Weathy General, the doctor confirmed her worst nightmare… she was pregnant.
How are they going to get out of this one?
Toyah became adamant to keep the child, much to Nick’s horror, both of them unaware that Leanne had run into Rowan back at home and confided in him about the news.
We have a feeling he might use this to his advantage!
