Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton makes an emotional apology to Roy Cropper next week.

Lauren turns up at the café to make amends with Roy following the terrible chain of events involving her

recent disappearance.

Monday’s episode (July 8) saw Lauren arrive at Roy’s bedside in hospital after he’d suffered a heart attack.

Tuesday’s follow-on scenes (July 9) see Roy briefly spot Lauren as he drifts in and out of consciousness. Lauren leaves before being seen by anyone else, so when Roy tries to explain that she’s still alive, his loved ones suspect that he may have been hallucinating.

Next week, Roy’s niece Nina Lucas and lawyer Dee-Dee Bailey are both surprised when a nurse at the hospital confirms his story. She explains that Roy did receive a visit from a young girl who had blonde hair.

Dee-Dee informs her friend Bethany Platt and fiancé Joel Deering that the police are now checking the building’s CCTV to determine whether it was Lauren.

Roy is pleased that it seems Lauren is still alive, but Nina is livid that the troubled teenager didn’t return much sooner. Nina thinks that Lauren should have stepped in to clear Roy’s name after he was wrongly accused of her murder.

Later in the week, Dee-Dee, Bethany and Joel all go through the statements from Bethany’s stolen work credit card. They’ve figured out that Lauren was the one who took the card and used it to survive while she was in hiding.

Of course, Joel has an ulterior motive for investigating the case, still hiding the fact that he was the one who brutally attacked Lauren just before she disappeared.

When Dee-Dee spots ticket transactions that were made in Warrington, she decides to check soup kitchens in the area.

Dee-Dee and Bethany reach a breakthrough when a homeless woman tells them that Lauren is squatting in a nearby pub.

Dee-Dee decides to call Joel to update him on the situation. Sadly, this creates the possibility that Joel could pay his own sinister visit to Lauren before Dee-Dee and Bethany manage to find her.

Later in the week, Lauren finally comes out of hiding and she visits the café to say sorry to Roy.

Lauren then heads to the Rovers Return, where she’s greeted by her friend Bobby Crawford. Bobby kindly invites Lauren to come and stay with him and Carla Connor until she can make other arrangements.

Carla is furious over Bobby’s offer, as she reflects on the horrendous ordeal that Roy faced while Lauren was missing. Can she ever forgive Lauren? And what will Lauren’s reappearance mean for Joel’s future?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, July 19.
