The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Gloria Fisher Bardwell (Judith Chapman) doesn’t pop up much anymore, but fans are always delighted to see her. Gloria is a hilarious and fascinating character, so we’ll always root for her to have more screentime.
Judith Chapman also plays the feisty Diana Cooper, who’s in prison on Days of Our Lives. Chapman has won over many soap viewers with her top-notch portrayals at both Y&R and DOOL, but now she’s taking on exciting new role.
It turns out Chapman has two projects in the works, but they don’t involve soaps this time around.
Chapman is sliding into the director’s role for a couple of stage productions happening at the Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs this autumn.
For starters, there’s a play called Shunned, which was written Larry Parr.
It’s about showcasing the Amish lifestyle, the pressures of that community in a modern world and how being excluded can affect those who leave it behind.
Janice Lynde, who played Leslie Brooks on Y&R, will portray Katherine Yoder when this production makes its debut this October.
We have no doubt that Chapman will do a wonderful job directing this powerful and emotional play.
Larry Parr has also penned a production called Sundew, which is about characters working to save what they believe is the actual Eden from biblical times.
As developers threaten to take over, these characters step up to save the land and explore themes that combine spirituality with ecology.
This play will be directed by Chapman, too – and like Shunned, it’s going to have its premiere in October.
