EastEnders fans fear that a beloved character could be killed off following a horrific recent crowd crush on the soap.
This week, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) sabotaged Penny Branning’s (Kitty Castledine) event at Peggy’s, the bar. Fans will recall Penny went behind Chelsea’s back, and snatched her job from her as bar manager.
Fuming, during Monday’s episode (August 26) Chelsea ended up increasing the amount of tickets available – unbeknownst to Penny. And as the event kicked off, more and more people started to arrive.
Walford residents like Peter (Thomas Law) and Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) also turned up, and after getting inside, they quickly realised things were getting out of hand.
Amy got caught up
With Peggy’s incredibly overcrowded, Zack tried to get people to leave – but all the exits were blocked due to the huge crowds.
Trapped, panic started to set in for the club-goers, including underage teenager Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) who snuck in. The crowd eventually managed to get out – but more drama was to come.

In Tuesday’s episode (August 27) Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was left horrified after seeing Amy get wheeled away into an ambulance. She then went into cardiac arrest just seconds later and was rushed to hospital.
Fans of the long-running soap were quick to share their concerns about Amy – who is the daughter of Jack and soap legend Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons). On X, one person said: “They better not kill off Amy you know.”

Someone else added: “EastEnders are another level of evil if they kill off Amy Mitchell on the same week as releasing Roxy & Ronnie’s death episode from 2017 on I player. Please let Amy be ok.”
A third penned: “Amy’s death brings back Roxy Mitchell, case closed thank you and goodbye.” Another wrote: “Is swear if they kill off Amy…” A fifth also said: “Amy in cardic arrest WHAT?!”
