Craig Tinker may need to be careful around Kit Green as fans have speculated he may be after one of his biggest secrets yet.
The newcomer portrayed by former Hollyoaks star Jacob Roberts was first introduced to the ITV soap in May, 2024, when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) made the decision to finally track down her long-lost son, born “Zodiac.”
But since his arrival in Weatherfield, Kit has been embroiled in multiple storylines suggesting to viewers of the Manchester-based drama he has sinister intentions, particularly as he framed Nathan Curtis for Lauren’s disappearance before offering support to Joel Deering, the true culprit.
And while many soap fans believe that he may have a link to Lauren’s ordeal, much like Nathan Curtis, a minority of viewers have been more concerned about his growing friendship with PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).
Could Kit be trying to take Craig down for covering up Faye and Emma’s involvement in Ted’s death?
The pair of men struck up a “bromance” in recent weeks, while Kit continues to help DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) get to the bottom of Lauren’s situation. But during one notable exchange, the detective plied an unsuspecting Craig with booze and their conversation soon led to corrupted coppers.
Craig was seconds away from telling Kit all about his ex-girlfriend Faye Windass and, more particularly, her involvement in a pensioner’s death in 2022 which he helped cover up. Thankfully for Faye and Emma Brooker – who both left the cobbles since the accident – Craig kept his secrets to himself.
However, Kit appeared determined to know more about Craig’s secret and it was enough for a fan to suggest he could be trying to take him down for helping Faye and Emma get away with Ted’s death.
“I don’t trust Kit & Craig’s new partnership”, one viewer notably penned earlier this week. Another echoed in a warning: “Craig do not confide in kit.he is make friends for a reason.he is trying to found out about that man who died and you helped cover up.”
In 2022, while heading home after a New Year’s Eve part, Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) and Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) accidentally hit an old man named Ted with their car and while he was seemingly fine in the direct aftermath, the pensioner later died just as the pair of women were paying him a visit to replace the shopping he’d been carrying during the accident.
Both Emma and Faye struggle to keep the secret, with the latter growing increasingly terrified she’d go back to prison, months after her release for assaulting Adam Barlow. When Emma embarked on a relationship with Ted’s grandson, Faye began to crumble but Craig eventually got involved by using his officer role as an advantage, saving both pals from prison.
Emma has since left Weatherfield to go to Australia with Jon Spear, Ted’s grandson, while Faye waved goodbye to Craig and the rest of her Corrie family in 2023, after being reunited with her daughter Miley and her ex-boyfriend Jackson, making the police constable the only remaining character in Corrie to know the truth. Could Kit get it out of him?
