Fans of the long-running ITV soap are convinced the pensioner is plotting to set the recovering addict up.

During Wednesday night’s instalment of Coronation Street viewers watched as he made a call to a man, revealing he had won a lot of money.

Mechanic Cassie – who is played by Claire Sweeney – overheard Ken boasting about his £50k Lottery win on the phone.

Cassie, who is a recovering drug addict, pretended she didn’t hear the call and only slammed the front door closed when it had ended.

As she checked on Ken she asked him if he had anything to discuss, fans watched her later smirk in the kitchen.

It’s left them convinced Ken hasn’t actually won anything and is trying to catch Cassie out.

Taking so social media, one said: “Think he’s not won 50 grand he’s up to something.”

A second wrote: “He’s going to test her to see if she will rinse him.”

“Ken is going to play her,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Wondering if Ken is testing Carrie?”

Meanwhile, Corrie fans were left stunned earlier this week by Cassie’s glam transformation.

Viewers watched as Cassie thought she was asked out on a date by Steve McDonald and quickly transformed herself.

A fresh-blow dry, a nice top and a denim skirt – as well as a full face of make-up – made Cassie look every bit as glamorous as actress Claire is off-screen.
