EastEnders enthusiasts are buzzing with theories that Reiss Colwell might be the one to finally topple Phil Mitchell after their recent clash.
In the latest episode from Walford (August 13), viewers were on the edge of their seats during a heated face-off between the scared accountant and the notorious hard man.
The tension escalated when Phil caught wind of Suki and Eve’s conversation about the engagement ring they purchased from Reiss.
The scene was set in The Queen Vic, where the newly betrothed pair realised they were short of both the ring and the £2000 they shelled out for it, which raised Phil’s suspicions.
Flying off the handle, Phil dragged Reiss to the boxing gym for a showdown about the missing £13,000.
“I’m beginning to wonder if you ain’t stupid enough to try to steal my money,” Phil menacingly questioned a petrified Reiss.
Buckling under the strain, Reiss owned up to using the cash from his deceased wife’s engagement ring, which he sold to Suki and Eve, to pay Phil, reports the Daily Star.
Phil, relentless, kept on Reiss’s case to get his money back, despite Reiss admitting he was broke.
“If you haven’t got my money,” he threatened Reiss, “I’m going to hurt you. I’m going to hurt you bad.”
Desperate, Reiss attempted to play on Phil’s emotions, revealing Sonia’s pregnancy and his anguish over Debbie’s passing.
He further divulged to the hardened criminal about the hefty sum expected from Debbie’s life insurance, promising to settle his debt with Phil once it arrives.
Phil gave Reiss a deadline: come Monday, he wants his money. But as Phil left, Reiss appeared lost in thought, possibly plotting his next move.
