EastEnders’ Gina Knight is set to make a major love confession on her sister’s behalf in upcoming scenes as the soap revisits Anna Knight and Freddie Slater’s romance.
Despite their attempts to remain platonic friends after sleeping together last year, especially now that Anna is dating Freddie’s close friend Bobby Beale, the pair have been growing closer ever since Anna’s drink spiking trauma as Freddie has been there to support her.
In scenes airing on the BBC soap next week, Gina notices the undeniable spark between them and warns her sister not to string Bobby along if she’s really in love with Freddie.
However, Anna is quick to insist that she and Bobby are great together and dismisses Gina’s suspicions.
Later on, Bobby apologises to Anna for taking her for granted, leaving her furious as she realises that Gina has interfered in their relationship.
Anna confronts Gina and the girls argue about who Anna really has feelings for, unaware that Freddie has overheard Gina saying that Anna is in love with him.
Despite his own feelings for Anna, Freddie does his best to put some distance between them given her relationship with Bobby.
Gina won’t be the only one to notice the chemistry between Anna and Freddie next week, as Mo Harris will also raise her suspicions about the nature of their relationship with Anna. This leaves Anna with some questions about where she stands with Bobby.
It’s possible that Anna and Freddie’s romantic spark will pave the way for Bobby’s departure from Walford, as actor Clay Milner Russell is set to leave the role this year. However, Russell’s exit storyline is yet to be confirmed.
