Fans of EastEnders turned against “evil” Bernadette Taylor on Tuesday night after her sick plan against Linda Carter was revealed, resulting in a deadly twist.
Viewers were left fearing Linda would die after a medical incident, with her son Johnny Carter calling for an ambulance.
Linda will be rushed to hospital, after she was found in a bad way after the alcoholic hit the bottle once more.
Johnny froze as he found his mum choking on her own vomit, with Gina Knight putting her in the recovery position and telling Johnny to call for help.
The episode ended as Linda struggled to breathe, with her fate not yet revealed.
Amid fears Linda will leave the show with her not mentioned in further spoilers, fans turned on Bernie for her sick actions towards Linda.
With it recently confirmed she was working with Dean Wicks to find out what Linda knew about her brother Keanu Taylor’s murder, Bernie was keen to get answers.
After Dean ditched her and refused to help her, Bernie decided to abuse Linda’s alcohol addiction to try and get her to let slip any details. Of course she has no idea that Linda killed Keanu, and she’s been drinking since to cope with her guilt.
Bernie did something unforgivable though as she targeted Linda, with fans calling her “evil”. In a sickening twist, Bernie was shown encouraging Linda to drink more, refilling her glass with booze every time she finished it.
Viewers slammed the scenes and Bernie’s sick plan to get Linda drunk in the hope she might confess. Viewers admitted they were “uncomfortable” as some said it was too far.
One fan posted on X: “Sorry Bernie is actually a vile person because how do you manipulate a vulnerable person who’s very clearly and publicly struggling with alcoholism, and bring in alcohol and pour it for her whilst talking about a situation that caused her to drink in the first place.” Another said: “Bernie is a real nasty piece of work.”
A third fan said: “Bernie making Linda drink MORE??? She’s actually disgusting Bernie we HATE you.” On Linda’s possible death, one fan said: “The fact that the massive argument Linda and Johnny had today might be their last ever conversation.”
