Lauren made a shock comeback last month as Cait Fitton reprised her role. Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel Deering, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive.

Joel managed to persuade Lauren to lie to the police and say that Nathan Curtis, who was already arrested for Lauren’s ‘disappearance’, was behind her attack and the father of her baby.

However, last Friday night, in evil and disgusting scenes, Joel drugged pregnant Lauren with pills that would bring on an early labour, resulting in her being rushed to hospital. In scenes this week, Lauren was terrified as her prematurely born son was rushed to an incubator as she feared whether he will survive.
