Emmerdale viewers think they know what’s wrong with Moira Dingle on the ITV soap after worrying scenes.
The character has been lashing out recently and acting out of character, fighting with her husband Cain Dingle and turning to drink. She was also seen losing it with her son Matty Barton amid his recent prison ordeal, with fans not sure why she’s hitting out at everyone.
Viewers noted she did not seem herself and wondered if something was happening with her, perhaps a new health related storyline. Some questioned if he was hiding a health related secret, and if something was upsetting her.
Could an emotional plot be about to turn her and her family’s lives upside down? Fans have come up with a number of theories about what is going on, convinced there has to be something on the cards after recent episodes.
A number of fans wondered if Moira could be going through the menopause, and this might explain her recent emotions. One fan posted on X: “Is Moira going through the menopause?”

Others believed it could be something else though, worried she might be harbouring a sad secret. Fans wondered if a mental health storyline would see Moira suffer a breakdown, with one writing: “Moira’s personality change has got to be part of a story.
“She just mentioned her first husband and told Matty to man up. Breakdown incoming?” Other viewers suggested Moira might be suffering from an illness that is causing her to lash out at her loved ones, whether she knew it or not.
A fan said: “Something is definitely going on with Moira. If it’s not the menopause then maybe she has another health issue she has been keeping secret. Because I thought it was just Cain, she was treating like crap.”
A further comment read: “I think Moira is poorly… cancer or menopause as she’s been very different this last few weeks even when Matty came home.” Another said: “Is Moira sick, brain tumour, might explain her behaviour?” It’s not been revealed in spoilers what’s ahead for the character so fans will have to wait and see!
