Emmerdale enthusiasts reckon they’ve cracked the mystery surrounding Rose Jackson’s vanishing act.

Rose, Will Taylor’s ex-wife and Dawn Fletcher’s estranged mum, made her debut on the ITV soap earlier this year. 

It didn’t take long for viewers to notice her issues with Will’s new wife, Kim Tate, as she made a string of questionable choices while settling into Home Farm.

In recent episodes, it was revealed that she was secretly in cahoots with Ruby Fox-Miligan to undermine Kim and her marriage. 

Rose attempted to drug Will but ended up drugging her own daughter Dawn, causing a car crash for which she blamed Kim.

However, last week saw Ruby and Rose’s plot uncovered, but not before Rose had a chance to bed Will behind Kim’s back. 

In a bid for revenge, Kim and Will decided to abandon her in a remote location with some cash to survive.

While it seemed like the matter was settled, Rose was later approached by an unidentified driver. What transpired after this encounter is still unknown, but her handbag and personal items were found strewn about, leading fans to believe she may have met a grisly fate, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Fans have taken to Twitter to voice their theories about Rose’s destiny following recent episodes, with speculation ranging from intricate revenge schemes and unexpected deaths to eerie cover-up tactics.

Emmerdale viewers are crafting wild theories with one fan suggesting on social media: “This is all a show. Dawn is the one who has Rose hidden somewhere, I’m just not sure where I said that as soon as I seen the car pull up, and I’m sticking to it.”

Another eager fan speculated: “I think Ruby has rose and it’s part of their plan cause they will know that Kim and Will won’t trust each other #Emmerdale.”

While a third proposed their own twist: “Kim knows bet she’s got Rose tied up in a stable somewhere. She’s gonna get her own back on Will.”

Speculation is rife among fans that Rose may actually be dead, with Kim and Will being the prime suspects. One viewer shared: “”If Rose is dead then the top suspects are Will, Ruby and Kim, but I don’t think it’s Kim and I wouldn’t rule out Dawn. Whatever’s happened to Rose I hope she stays gone. “Another fan chimed in: “Kim defo killed Rose, it would just make sense.”

However, a different viewer believes that Rose’s daughter Dawn might be responsible for her demise, stating: “Maybe Dawn did Rose in and is covering herself by making calls to her mobile.”

Ruby is another character that viewers suspect could have had a hand in Rose’s disappearance. A fan commented on X: “I bet Ruby sorted Rose out,” while another wondered: “I wonder if Ruby was responsible for the missing Rose?”

“An interesting theory circulating on social media suggests a dramatic Christmas return for Rose. The theory suggests a tense showdown with Kim and Will, predicting her reappearance in the holiday episodes where drama is guaranteed.

One fan speculated: “I bet she crawls out of the woodwork around Christmas, just in time to mess Christmas up for Kim. ” Another predicted her comeback, writing: “”If there’s no body then Rose will be back for revenge.”
