Emmerdale fans are speculating about a budding romance between Cain Dingle and Ella Forster. In the latest episodes, ITV soap viewers have seen Cain (portrayed by Jeff Hordley) and Moira Barton’s (Natalie J Robb) relationship hit a rough patch.
The root of their issues lies in Matty Barton’s (Ash Palmisciano) jail term. Moira’s son Matty was taken into custody after Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) informed the police that he was intentionally stabbed by the waiter.
Moira has been obsessed with proving Matty’s innocence and revealing Samson, Cain’s nephew, for his violent falsehoods. The pair butted heads when Cain was aiding Samson to toughen up as he faces jail time for his dishonesty after confessing the truth about Matty.
On Monday (August 5), Samson was apprehended for assault after he confronted bully Josh (Osian Morgan). As the police escorted the teenager out of The Woolpack, Cain noticed Moira smiling.
Later at home, the couple had another heated argument where she hurled a glass across the room after he became suspicious that she was the one who reported Samson to the police.
Meanwhile, Cain has revealed his gentler side to Ella (Paula Lane) who recently returned to the village pregnant. She also found a friend in Cain when it was disclosed she had killed a child when she was 11 years old.
Ella has also sought solace in Cain following her recent heart-breaking news of losing her baby. But is Cain Dingle about to hop into bed with Ella as things cool off with his beloved Moira? Well that’s the theory some Emmerdale viewers have come up with.
A fan took to Twitter, penning: “Is Moira turning into a psycho abuser like Tom #Emmerdale, Cain off with Ella.” Another sleuth tweeted: “#emmerdale My spider senses tell me there’s chemistry between Ella n Cain, what do you think?”.
Adding fuel to the gossip fire, another observer posted: “Bet Ella comes back and as an affair with Cain now his going to be going through troubles with Moir..” One curious viewer threw out the question: “Should Cain ditch Moira and get together with Ella? (The Dr’s ex)”.
And in a less-than-kind turn, another tweeter blasted: “Moira has turned into a nasty spiteful cow, loved her and Cain together but now I hope he leaves her @emmerdale.”
