Coronation Street fans believe they’ve unravelled the mystery surrounding Kit Green’s dubious link to the questionable character, Sid in the beloved ITV soap.
During Monday night’s episode (August 5), viewers were once again left pondering over Kit’s motives.
Despite his role as a detective, he appears more engrossed in causing havoc than solving crimes.
He has been observed planting evidence and creating disorder since his arrival on the cobbles, often concealing his actions.
In an unexpected turn of events, he assisted Beth Tinker in escaping punishment for selling counterfeit t-shirts to Sid, even though he and her son Craig Tinker had caught her in the act.
After some light-hearted banter, Kit declared no crime had been committed and allowed them to depart with the fake merchandise.
Later, he encountered Sid in a secluded alleyway with a proposal. Sid was initially sceptical, suspecting it was a trap, particularly when Kit mentioned a nearby surveillance team, according to the Mirror, reports the Daily Star.
Kit then handed back the counterfeit t-shirts to Sid, bizarrely granting him permission to sell them despite their illicit nature. However, he did insist on a 50% share of the profits. Sid was left baffled, questioning if Kit was playing tricks, but Kit reassured him they would be in touch.
Viewers are certain there’s more to this tale and suspect a clandestine connection between Kit and Sid. They theorise that this could clarify why Kit is facilitating Sid in his shady transactions.
