Emmerdale fans believe they’ve figured out the mystery surrounding Rose Jackson’s disappearance.
Rose, the former wife of Will Taylor and estranged mother to his daughter Dawn Fletcher, made her first appearance on the ITV soap earlier this year.
It quickly became apparent that she had a problem with Will’s new wife Kim Tate, and was seen making a series of dubious decisions while settling into Home Farm.
In recent episodes, it was disclosed that she was secretly working with Ruby Fox-Miligan to sabotage Kim and her marriage.
Rose tried to drug Will but accidentally drugged her own daughter Dawn, resulting in a car accident for which she blamed Kim.
However, last week Ruby and Rose’s scheme was exposed, but not before Rose had a chance to sleep with Will behind Kim’s back.
Intent on revenge, Kim and Will decided to leave her stranded in a remote area with some money to get by.
Although it seemed like the issue was resolved, Rose was later approached by an unknown driver. What happened after this encounter remains a mystery, but her handbag and belongings were found scattered on the ground, leading viewers to suspect she may have met a grim end, reports the Mirror.
Fans have flocked to Twitter to share their suspicions over Rose’s fate in the wake of recent episodes, teeming with speculation from elaborate revenge plots and unforeseen demises to chilling concealment strategies.
Due to her disappearance, some fans are convinced Rose is actually dead. As for who they reckon could have killed her, fingers point towards Kim and Will. One person said: “”If Rose is dead then the top suspects are Will, Ruby and Kim, but I don’t think it’s Kim and I wouldn’t rule out Dawn. Whatever’s happened to Rose I hope she stays gone.”
Someone else added: “Kim defo killed Rose, it would just make sense.” However, another viewer is convinced Rose’s daughter Dawn could be behind her death. They wrote: “Maybe Dawn did Rose in and is covering herself by making calls to her mobile.”
Another villager that fans think could have murdered Rose is Ruby. On X, a viewer said: “I bet Ruby sorted Rose out. #emmerdale”, while someone else pondered: “I wonder if Ruby was responsible for the missing Rose?”
An intriguing viewer theory shared on social media, which gathered support among fans, suggests a gripping storyline where she’ll lay low until Christmas Day. The conjecture points towards a volatile confrontation with Kim and Will, predicting her return in the festive episodes where chaos is sure to ensue.
The theory goes: “I bet she crawls out of the woodwork around Christmas, just in time to mess Christmas up for Kim.” Another predicts her return and penned: “”If there’s no body then Rose will be back for revenge.”
Another theory is that Rose is alive and is being kept somewhere. A viewer penned: “This is all a show. Dawn is the one who has Rose hidden somewhere, I’m just not sure where I said that as soon as I seen the car pull up, and I’m sticking to it.”
A second wrote: “I think Ruby has rose and it’s part of their plan cause they will know that Kim and Will won’t trust each other #Emmerdale.” A third also mused: “Kim knows bet she’s got Rose tied up in a stable somewhere. She’s gonna get her own back on Will.”
