Coronation Street has aired a worrisome update for Jack Webster following his arrest.

Earlier this week, the teenager confessed to DS Lisa Swain that he’d accidentally set the fire that damaged Stefan Brent’s office building.
Jack had been trying to vandalise Stefan’s car as revenge for the villain tricking him into leaving him alone in No. 13 where he could steal incriminating evidence.
Kevin had been determined to take the rap for his son, only for Jack to go behind his back and confess what he’d done to DS Swain.

A cliffhanger earlier in the week had Kevin, Abi, and Debbie shocked to see Jack marched into the police precinct.

In Friday’s (August 2) episode, Jack tried to be open and honest with DS Swain as she interrogated him over the arson.

He insisted he never meant to start a fire.
“I’m not a bad person,” Jack pleaded.
The teen was horrified when DS Swain confirmed that she planned to formally charge him with arson with intent to endanger life.
Solicitor Adam Barlow had promised he’d try to help Jack, yet he came away from the interrogation without much hope for the boy.

Adam confided in Kevin that the case against Jack was strong given his confession, which meant he would be guaranteed to spend time behind bars.
The solicitor suggested that Jack’s best hope was to plead guilty to a lesser charge, to avoid a trial. Still, he’d be looking at a stretch in a youth offenders facility, at the very least.
Abi later promised a worried Kevin she’d “step up” and be strong for him, given all the times he’d done the same for her.
What will Jack decide?
