Coronation Street is lining up dramatic scenes next week on the cobbles with danger teased for DS Lisa Swain’s daughter Betsy.
Only recently on the ITV soap, youngster Betsy has been blackmailing evil Joel Deering after his creepy behaviour towards her friend Sabrina. In spoilers next week, Betsy reminds Joel of how he threw her out of his car in the middle of a rough estate and he now owes her, leaving the solicitor seething.
Later, Joel scrolls through Betsy’s social media – will he realise that she is the daughter or DS Swain and what has he got planned? It’s not long until Betsy demands £100 or she’ll blab about him picking up young girls to which Joel loses his temper, dragging her into the ginnel. Will Betsy be okay and what has Joel got planned?
Soap fans will recall that Joel is a dangerous resident on the cobbles. Only recently, Lauren Bolton made a shock comeback as Cait Fitton reprised her role. Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks on from him being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.
And things only got more explosive when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital, forcing her into a family room and pleading with her not to reveal what happened. As violent and evil Joel went to lash out again, Lauren protected her stomach revealing she was five months pregnant with his baby in a huge bombshell before fleeing the hospital.
Joel has since located Lauren again and is hiding her in an empty flat while claiming to make plans to move her to Ireland for a better life. Joel recently showed Lauren booked tickets to Ireland, revealing she was flying out on 12 August and he had just days to sort everything out. However, in a recent episode, Joel was seen searching on his laptop: “What drugs can induce premature labour” in a sick twist, sparking concern amongst viewers.
