Emmerdale has hinted at a brewing feud between Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas, revealing Jai’s darker side once again. This came after Laurel discovered that Jai had been hiding his involvement in Father Hamed Sha’s sudden departure from the village.
In the episode airing on Tuesday, July 23rd, Jai was in a foul mood, snapping at Gail Loman at the Hide for commenting on his task of clearing empty tables. Laurel then approached Jai for a private conversation, although he made it clear he didn’t want the discussion to take long. Laurel suggested they work alternate shifts at the Hide to avoid working together, but Jai quickly dismissed the idea.
“That’s a bit unfair, isn’t it?” Jai complained. Laurel argued that their working together could create an awkward environment for their staff if they felt caught in the middle. Jai retorted, “Laurel, you left me. You chose this, and now you want me to jump through hoops and b.e.n.d o.v.e.r backward to organize some impossible rota just so that you don’t feel uncomfortable.”
When Jai mentioned wanting to take Archie to the cinema, Laurel informed him that Gabby had already planned to spend time with the children. “I’m sure you can ring her. He is my son,” Jai declared.
Earlier this week, cast member Charlotte Bellamy confirmed that there is no way back for Jai and Laurel following their latest split. “She is sticking to her g.u.n.s, without a doubt,” the actor said.
