Coronation Street has confirmed Toyah Battersby has cancer.
Toyah recently learned she could have the disease after initially being told she was pregnant. She has leaned on future brother-in-law Nick for support,
especially after their fling.
Nick and Toyah have also been trying to convince Leanne that her spiritual guru Rowan is a conman, having discovered the cult leader was once in prison for aggravated burglary and a.s.s.a.u.l.t.
Leanne initially reacted to the revelation by claiming the information was fake, though she did confront Rowan in Monday’s (July 22) episode.

Unfortunately, Rowan manipulated Leanne by admitting the damaging information was true but he’d changed his life through his work with The Institute.
Toyah and Nick were disappointed that Leanne continued to buy into Rowan’s lies. Toyah set off for her latest hospital appointment, with Nick joining her for support.
She was told during the consultation that she had germ-cell ovarian cancer that would require an operation to remove the tumour. Toyah learned she may also need to have chemotherapy.
Back at home, Toyah reeled as Leanne callously insinuated her sister’s cancer may have been caused by her “bad energy”.

Nick snapped, shouting at Leanne: “You’re saying she’s brought it on herself?! … Good vibes and positivity aren’t going to cure her.”
