Desperate and running out of options, Reiss Colwell decided to kill his wife but EastEnders fans were too distracted from the murder by an easy-to-miss blunder.

Has been jumping through hurdles for Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) as the couple have been at the core of an IVF storyline.
However, while the nurse dreams of parenthood 24 years after the explosive birth of her daughter Bex.
She has no clue her other half has been stealing from his comatose wife Debbie to fund her treatment.
But in new shocking scenes recently aired, the accountant took things to another level and smothered Debbie to death in an attempt to cash in on her life insurance policy.
Reiss’ growing debts pushed him to commit the desperate murder, confirming months of suspicion. Viewers of the London-based programme have been convinced the awkward character would become a killer as his growing debts continue to haunt him and have shared their theories on social media.
But while the horrific scene kept some soap fans lost for words, some eagle-eyed TV watchers spotted a huge blunder as the reality of Reiss’ actions sunk in.
Some fans were stunned when the wooden backing of another EastEnders set could be seen behind Reiss. Many viewers flocked to X, otherwise known as Twitter, to share their amazement.
“Did anyone catch the camera shot blip? You can see the back of other sets on the right”, one of them penned before adding: “I noticed it as soon as I watched the scene.” Another commented: “S**t that’s bad.”
A third then pointed out: “Seems to always happen in Dot’s house too. (Well, Sonia’s now). Happened once at the end of 2019 in the living room in a scene with Dot, Sonia and some others lol.” Another TV watcher was more concerned for the cameraman as they commented: “Whoever is responsible for that job is gonna be in trouble!”
Fans have been grown increasingly concerned for Sonia following Debbie’s death as some of them theorised Reiss could frame the beloved nurse for her murder. Terrified he would be caught out, Reiss struggled to cope this Thursday, July 25, when the police got involved in Debbie’s death and a post-mortem was organised.
Giving their theories, one fan wrote: “Why would they show that Sonia got shouted at by the nurse for ‘sneaking in’ and her saying she hopes she dies in front of Martin just for it to go nowhere, its the most obvious ‘Sonia is accused of murder’ storyline set up.”
A second added: “Sonya is absolutely getting blamed for it. I did think it was super weird when she adjusted the pillow to make her comfy (but just kind of flopped Debbie’s head to the side) like it was a completely unnecessary scene. But, of course, Chekhov’s comatose wife’s pillow. It was to plant the evidence against her.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Sonia faces prison as she was once accused of murdering former mother-in-law Pauline Fowler, with whom she’d had a conflictual relationship.
