EastEnders has unveiled a heart-wrenching twist for Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) as her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) violently lashes out at her.
Tommy’s frustration boiled over when Kat and her ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) failed to mend their broken relationship/
Leading him to express his desire to live with Phil despite the family’s dissolution.
However, when Kat spits some harsh truths about Phil, Tommy reacts with anger, striking his mother in the stomach.
In response, Kat pushes her son away, only to receive a stern warning from him.
Fans of EastEnders are now recalling that Tommy’s biological father is not Alfie Moon (Shane Richie).
But the villainous Michael Moon – a sociopath who arrived in Walford in October 2010.
Michael, with his gentlemanly charm, handsome appearance, manipulative tendencies, and deceitful personality, was a recipe for disaster.
During Kat’s marriage to Alfie, they briefly separated when he was incarcerated for six months. During this time, Kat had an affair with Alfie’s cousin Michael, resulting in the birth of their son – Tommy.
The malevolent Michael (portrayed by Stephen John Shepherd) was unstable and vastly different from his kind-hearted cousin Alfie.
Romance was not easy for Michael, but he found love with local villain Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), and the pair got hitched in 2012.
However, Michael, notorious as an uncommitted character, proved to be a lax father to Scarlett which culminated in Janine exiting their marriage.
During this turbulent period, Michael craftily manipulated Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks), who had feelings for him, to spend time with Scarlett, his daughter. Needless to say, Janine reacted poorly to this.
In a dramatic turn of events, Michael figured that eliminating Janine via an overdose of sleeping pills, planned by Alice, was the best solution.
On Halloween 2013, tensions reached breaking point and in a heated confrontation, Michael choked Janine, releasing his grip only when he got stabbed unexpectedly by Alice.
As Alice fled the scene, a wounded Michael managed to stagger back up and lunged at Janine once more, before she struck him a fatal blow with the knife.
The sinister plot twisted as it was revealed that Janine was actually the one who killed Michael, even though she schemed to frame Alice for the murder.
Recently, with Tommy manifesting abusive tendencies, EastEnders devotees are speculating if Tommy is headed down a dark path like his father Michael.
One ardent fan took to X and commented: “Not forgetting Tommy is the spawn of Michael Moon….. #EastEnders.”
Another echoed this sentiment, stating: “Tommy is Michael Moon’s son and could have potentially inherited his fathers dark side and should he lash out at Kat, she could turn to Sharon as well, as Dennis jr once lashed out at her too. #EastEnders.”
A third chimed in with equal gusto: “Tommy’s becoming a wind up merchant just like his father Michael Moon. #EastEnders”, while another fan speculated, “Tommy is Michael Moons son, so I wonder if his late dad’s streak will show? #Eastenders”.
