Corrie enthusiasts were left with their jaws on the floor when they caught a glimpse of what appeared to be Craig Tinker’s doppelganger.
Craig, portrayed by actor Colson Smith, has been a fixture on the Street since his debut as a youngster back in 2011.
And viewers have witnessed him evolve from a schoolboy into a dedicated policeman, while also dealing with heartache this year and showcasing an impressive personal transformation.
However, it was during Monday night’s show (July 15) that fans were sent into a f.r.e.n.z.y by the appearance of a new face in Weatherfield, who bore such a striking resemblance to the much-loved Craig that many were convinced they must be kin.
The buzz was all about a nurse at the hospital where Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) found himself after suffering a heart attack. Meanwhile, Lauren Bolton (portrayed by Cait Fitton) made her unexpected comeback – despite having vanished in February and being presumed dead.
Roy opened up to his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) about spotting Lauren, but she initially dismissed the idea, adamant that Lauren had passed away, reports the Express.
Yet, in the gripping Monday episode (July 15), the male nurse dropped a bombshell on Nina and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), revealing that Roy’s ‘other blonde niece’ had also been visiting him.
But the real chatter among the audience was about the uncanny resemblance between the nurse and Corrie’s own Craig, prompting a wave of double-takes. Over on X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: “Is that male nurse Craig’s twin? “.
Another fan chimed in with: “I thought that nurse was Craig’s brother at first!? ” While a third remarked: “Had to do a double take, Thought Craig was a nurse.”
One shocked fan questioned: “Is that male nurse going to turn out to be Craig’s long-lost brother? “. Another pondered: “Is the doctor Craig’s twin separated at birth.” Meanwhile, a fifth fan chimed in with: “That nurse DCI Tinkers long lost brother? “.
