Coronation Street fans have been left reeling after discovering Joel Deering’s (played by Calum Lill) new plan.
Weeks ago, it was confirmed that he was the person responsible for harming Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) in her flat before she vanished from the cobbles.
Although many feared that the teen had been killed, she was tracked down this week by Joel’s fiance Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
However, when they discovered her, they were shocked to learn that she was pregnant, not knowing it was Joel’s baby.
During Friday night’s episode, Joel managed to convince Lauren to keep quiet about what really happened between them and lie to the police about who attacked her.
As she agreed, claiming it was Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) who hurt her, Joel arranged for Lauren to stay at his friend’s flat while he arranged a way for her to get to Ireland.
However, Lauren revealed she has a scheduled email sent to DS Swain (Vicky Myers) confessing the entire truth about him in case he decides to hurt her or her baby.
Agreeing to help, Joel later showed Lauren that he had booked her a flight for August 12, to give him three weeks to sort everything out.
Although it’s clear he has a crueller plan in mind as the lawyer was seen at the end of the episode searching on his laptop: “What drugs can induce premature labour.”
It wasn’t long before people watching took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Joel’s sinister new plan, with many seething.
One viewer said: “Induce premature labour, oh god Joel gets worse and worse. #Corrie”
Another tweeted: “Joel looking up drugs to induce premature labour! Lauren is never going to Ireland is she?”
“Joel is stepping to a new low by wanting to induce premature labour for Lauren,” reeled someone else.
Unimpressed with his actions, another viewer commented: “Ooh, that’s evil Joel.”
“Joel is going to make Lauren lose her baby.. “ suggested one horrified fan.
Another warned: “I wouldn’t trust Joel if he told me the time of day!”
