General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, July 12, reveals that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) refused to stick around despite Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Maxie Jones’ (Kristen Storms) trap to force him to talk things out with Mac Scorpio (John J. York).

Maxie and Felicia tried to get through to Mac after Cody left, but he remained hesitant to have a real father-son relationship with him after all the lies.

Next on Friday’s GH episode, Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) passed along dinner for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and the kids, but Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was busy working late with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison).

That left Sasha on edge due to what she witnessed on the Fourth of July, so she swore Cody to secrecy and confided in him once he returned to the stables.

Cody got updates on Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) “situationship” with Drew and the kiss that Sasha saw between Drew and Willow.

Although Cody was shocked, he suggested it was a one-time deal and acted like Sasha should leave all this alone.

Once Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) came home, he found Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) setting up a romantic dinner for her parents.

It had been a year since Curtis got shot and almost lost everything, but Trina was focusing on all the wonderful things they had to celebrate now.

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) showed up after Trina left and was pleased over the surprise meal, but she bickered with Curtis about Heather Webber (Alley Mills) and wasn’t happy he hid his Pentonville visit.

However, Curtis suggested maybe Heather didn’t deserve to be behind bars forever based on the cobalt poisoning and the more rational person he’d met.

Portia was upset over her husband’s point of view, but Curtis acted like it didn’t matter anyway since Heather didn’t want Laura Collins (Genie Francis) to pursue reopening the case.

In the end, Curtis got his romantic night with Portia back on track and convinced her to share a dance with him.

At Laura and Kevin Collins’ (Jon Lindstrom) place, they discussed some research on a case similar to Heather’s before Trina stopped by.

Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) had left a stuffed animal in Trina’s car during their last outing, so she wanted to return it.

Kevin made himself scarce, so Laura and Trina discussed Portia’s passionate attempt to keep Heather locked up.

Laura mentioned that Heather didn’t want to be freed, so she was respecting her wishes.

Trina pointed out that Heather’s situation raised interesting questions about whether someone should be punished for something they couldn’t control.

It wasn’t the same as someone who could control their actions according to Trina.

After Trina suggested Heather should get true justice just the same as anyone else, Laura backed her up on that.

At Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) apartment, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) explained that she was headed to Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) house, but she refused to let Jason monitor things nearby this time.

Since Anna insisted on flying solo, Jason gave her a key to his place so that she could return there once she scored the satellite phone.

After Anna left, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) arrived with news on Jake Webber (Hudson West) getting accepted into the Barcelona Academy of Art, so Jason wanted to pay Jake’s tuition and all his expenses.

Liz agreed to let Jason if Jake was on board and appreciated Jason’s efforts to be a better father now that he was home.

At Valentin’s house, he was taken aback over Anna dropping by and accepted her bottle of wine.

Valentin asked Anna to stay for dinner, so she tried to get snoop while he was out of the room.

Once Valentin returned too quickly, Anna had to cover before they sat down to dinner.

Valentin wondered if Anna had given any more thought into leaving Port Charles with him, so she admitted it’d hit her hard if Valentin were to disappear without her.

“Then don’t let me,” Valentin said before things took a passionate turn with Anna on the sofa.
