Coronation Street favourites could be in danger as villain Joel Deering goes to desperate lengths to cover his tracks in upcoming scenes.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Joel actor Calum Lill teased the villain would stop at nothing to hide his dark secrets, and “get rid” of any “obstacles” that threatened to expose him. Joel is currently planning his wedding to Dee-Dee Bailey, but a major twist has left him at risk of being exposed.
Dramatic episodes this week saw him come face-to-face with Lauren Bolton, months on from him attacking her and leaving her for dead. Viewers finally found out Lauren’s true fate and that she was still alive, after she was presumed dead after going missing in February.
Flashbacks revealed the truth about her disappearance and what really happened with Joel. We also learned Lauren was five months pregnant with Joel’s baby, ahead of his September wedding to Dee-Dee who has no idea about his relationship with Lauren.
But with the net finally starting to close in on Joel, it’s said his lies will start to unravel. It seems amid Lauren’s return, more than one resident could grow suspicious as Joel struggles to hide his dark crimes.

But it could land more than one resident in danger, as Joel prepares to do whatever it takes to stop his lies being rumbled. Actor Calum told us: “I think desperate times mean desperate measures. What he wants is Dee-Dee, and to be married. He’s just fighting tooth and nail to get it, whatever obstacles come his way.
“Who knows what he is gonna do to get rid of them.” He went on: “This is the most pressure he’s felt absolutely, [where he has] the most at stake [and] the most loose ends he’s not been able to sort out and tie off.
“Every which way he looks there could be something that brings his whole world tumbling down around him. I don’t think we have seen the worst of him yet.” And on whether Dee-Dee might fall victim to Joel if she uncovers the truth, he said: “I don’t think in his head that will ever happen, because he is genuinely so in love with her.
“He’s besotted, but Joel is very selfish and is determined to do what he needs to to get his own way, and preserve his way of life. So maybe if he is pushed in a certain way… I don’t think so, but I don’t know what Joel’s limit is and we’re yet to discover what Joel’s limit is.”
